Dublin traffic update: Protesting truckers convoy travelling at 'walking pace' on M50

Hundreds of lorry drivers protesting rising fuel costs are back on the M50 in a convoy travelling at "walking pace".

The Irish Truckers and Haulage Association Against Fuel Prices are calling for lower prices at the pump after recent hikes.

They caused chaos earlier on Wednesday when hundreds of lorries drove along the M50 at slow speeds on their way into Merrion Square as part of their demonstration.

They left the city centre at around 2pm and headed out through the Port Tunnel and are now doing another lap of the M50.

A source within the protest said they were at the Liffey Valley exit driving Southbound.

It is unclear whether the protesters plan to do another lap of the M50 when they run out of Southbound road.
