Dublin to take on Monaghan in All-Ireland SFC semi-final

Dublin will face Monaghan in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-final.

Kerry will play Derry in the other semi-final. The draw took place on Sunday after the boys in blue cruised past Mayo to advance to the final four.

Results this weekend meant that a draw was necessary and it took place shortly after the conclusion of the last quarter-final at Croke Park.

However, repeat pairings were not allowed, which meant Derry could not face Monaghan. Kerry were the first team to secure their place in the last four after cruising to victory against Tyrone, running out winners by 2-18 to 0-12.

Monaghan then dramatically defeated Armagh on penalties after that match finished level after some 97 minutes of football, with Rory Beggan saving two penalties from Callum Cumiskey.

Derry beat Cork earlier today by 1-12 to 1-08 before Dublin defeated Mayo by 2-17 to 0-11.

The draw was conducted by Uachtarán CLG Larry McCarthy and Derek Kent, Chairman of the C.C.C.C. and was overseen by Bernard Smith, the GAA’s Games Administration Manager.

The semi-finals will be played at Croke Park Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16.
