A Dublin teenager has been charged with several alleged breaches of lockdown restrictions.
The 18-year-old was arrested by Gardai in Ballymun after receiving information from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The teen had allegedly breached the Health (Preservation and Protection and other Emergency Measures in the Public Interest) Bill, 2020 on several incidents, Dublin Live reports.
He was nabbed by Gardai in the Ballymun area on Monday evening after allegedly failing to comply with directions give by officers under the legislation.
As per protocol, Gardai "engaged, educated and encouraged" the teen in question before having to enforce the new legislation.
He is due to be brought before a sitting of Dublin District Court (Criminal Courts of Justice No. 2) on Tuesday morning.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí in Ballymun have charged a man (18 years) after receiving directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to a number of alleged breaches of the Health (Preservation and Protection and other Emergency Measures in the Public Interest) Bill, 2020.
"The man was arrested in the Ballymun area yesterday evening (27/4/2020).
"The charges relate to a number of incidents in which he had failed to comply with directions given by Gardaí under the legislation.
"In relation to all the incidents Gardaí did engage, educate, encourage and as a last resort enforce.
"He is due to be brought before a sitting of Dublin District Court (Criminal Courts of Justice No. 2) this morning."
