A shaken taxi driver who was physically attacked and abused by a passenger in a viral video has revealed he is "traumatised" by the incident.
The passenger is seen physically attacking the black driver, calling him a n****r in the disturbing footage, which has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on social media.
The Co Kerry suspect voluntarily handed himself in to gardai on Sunday.
Derek Devoy, who established Taxi Watch, a suicide prevention service run by his taxi drivers, shared the video on social media to track down the deranged passenger.
Mr Devoy was then contacted directly by the thug who asked him to take him to gardai.
During the sickening footage the man can be seen leaning in towards the driver and shouting, “What’s your favourite position?” before describing him as a “n***er” multiple times.
Man who assaulted taxi driver in viral video hands himself in to gardai
The taxi driver looks confused as his passenger had been quiet moments before the verbal and physical tirade erupted.
The man – who appears to be highly intoxicated – can then be seen punching the driver and calls him a “f***ing c**t”, in the video shared on Twitter.
The aggressor, in his 30s, then takes off his seatbelt, and roars numerous times that he is a “police officer”.
He then gets out of the car and walks over to the driver’s side, at which point the taximan locks the cab and drives off without being paid.
And now the taxi driver at the centre of the video has spoken out about his horrifying ordeal.

He told the Irish Daily Star: "I didn't know what to think when it was happening.
"I didn't know if he had a knife. He just started giving out to me, shouting at me and then started to hit me."
"I was left in shock. I still am. I am traumatised. I only went back to work for a few hours last Thursday and the same on Friday.
"But it comes back to me all of the time.
"I can still remember it all. I get flashbacks. The memory is still coming back."
