A Dublin councillor has blasted the "constant drug dealing" in the Finglas area which has seen schools becoming "plagued" and leaving principals with limited options as to what to do.
Councillor Anthony Connaghan warned that something needed to be done quickly in order to combat the damage being exposed to our youngsters on the northside.
The stark warning comes after a major drugs sting took place in north Dublin yesterday where one man in his 30s was arrested.
Councillor Anthony Connaghan said: "We've been raising the constant drug dealing and anti-social behaviour in the Barry area with Gardai and Dublin City Council officials this afternoon.
"The schools are being plagued and principals are at their wits' end.
"I've proposed solutions to the various stakeholders to try and deal with the issue."
On Monday, Gardai arrested one man and seized €64,000 of cocaine in the intelligence-led operation in Coolock.
The massive sting took place at 9pm when one man was stopped and searched on Greencastle Road.
Officers found eight large concealed bags of cocaine in his possession weighing about 1kg in total.
The arrested man in his 30s, is currently being quizzed at Coolock Garda Station.
