Metro Eireann, the Dublin-based multi-cultural newspaper for multiple nationalities living and working in Ireland, is to publish weekly after finding success as a monthly. Set up six years ago by two Nigerian journalists, Chinedu Onyejelem and Abel Ugba, most of its 15,000 print run is given away free, though there are some paid-for subscriptions. It is a very broad readership - Chinese, Nigerian, Polish, Latvian, Filipino and Indian- and has become a forum for inter-cultural communication. (Via Active Link)
