A Lidl in Dublin has come to international attention due to its unique museum-like feature.
The store on Aungier Street in the capital is unlike most other supermarkets thanks to the huge glass panels built into its floor - showcasing the wonderful archaeological secrets hidden beneath.
The grounds date back to the 11th century and Lidl has invested heavily to protect the historical structures that would have been forgotten otherwise.
Beneath one glass panel, the 18th Century Aungier Theatre staircase can be viewed while another shows the 11th century sunken floored structure.
And lastly, 18th century Longford Street Arches can be admired from inside the brand new shop.
Dublin GAA ladies star Sinéad Goldrick officially opened the new state-of-the-art Lidl store in October last year.
And the Irish shop has already gained international attention, after a Reddit submission on a forum with nearly 8 million members explained the unusual feature.
The post reads: "During the construction of a supermarket in Dublin, Ireland, archaeologists discovered the remains of a 1000 year old medieval house.
"Rather than excavate the items and build on top of the site, the store installed glass flooring that provides shoppers with a literal window into history."
And the post was seen by a global audience on the social media platform, earning tens of thousands of likes.
One commenter joked: "The ghosts of that house are super confused."
While another added: "They just want tobuy food but their glass ceiling is keeping them down."
