Dublin road chaos as cyclist injured in city centre crash and driver collides with J6 barrier

A cyclist in her 30's was injured in a crash between a car and her bike at around 11:30pm on Dame Street last night.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene.

The woman was taken to St James' Hospital for treatment and her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision on Dame Street in Dublin, yesterday 3 October 2021.

"The collision, between a car and bicycle, occurred at approximately 11.30pm.

"The cyclist, a woman aged in her 30s, was taken to St James’ Hospital where she received treatment. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening."

Separately over the weekend, a driver of a van crashed into a barrier at Junction 6 of the M50.

He didn't accept the offer to be transported to hospital.

There was also a tragedy on the roads in Ballyfermot. A young man has died and another has been arrested following a horror crash on the Sarsfield Road.
