Dublin restaurant La Peniche issue 'emotional update' after Waterways Ireland reverse takeaway decision

Restaurant Manager Shiful Islam told Dublin Live this week he had spent thousands on stock and pleaded with the authority to be allowed to trade.

Those please proved to be successful with the restaurant taking to social media this morning to confirm it would reopen today.

They said: "We have got the go ahead to trade from Waterways Ireland.

"We will open for takeaway today from 5pm!

"May we take this opportunity to thank you all for the support you have shown us."

The restaurant then posted a further update to say they would be opening even earlier to enjoy the fine weather.

They wrote: "Sun is out. We have decided to open at lunch time 1pm for coffees food etc to takeaway.

"Bring a picnic blanket, sit on the canal bank and enjoy the scenery.

"Remember to respect the surroundings and use bins let’s look after our canal and public spaces."
