Dublin remains in top five most expensive cities to rent in Europe, according to new report

Dublin remains in the top five most expensive cities to rent in Europe with a staggering new rent average which is over €200 more than last year.

Rental costs are up €207 on average per month from 2019 with rent in the capital now at €3,613 per month, a new accommodation Ranking report by ECA International has found that

The Irish capital has one of the steepest rental rises at 6%, making it more expensive than some of the biggest capital cities in the world, Dublin Live reports.

Its renting average is miles ahead of Paris (€3,461), Berlin (€2,354) and Madrid (€2,393), according to the report.

Alec Smith, Accommodation Services Manager at ECA International, said: “Dublin has once again seen one of the steepest year-on-year increases of rents in Europe, at just over 6%.

“The increase is partly due to the continuing increase of international companies relocating staff to the city, elevating the demand for expatriate-standard housing.”

London holds on to the top spot as the most expensive place to rent in Europe for expats.

The average cost of a three-bedroom, mid-range home for expatriates in the English capital is £5,308 per month (€5,963).
