Dublin rap sensation releases new 'catchier than Covid' tune alongside Gardai

A budding young Irish rapper has teamed up with the Gardai to share a message to young people around keeping your family and friends during Covid-19.

Dublin teen, Ste Brown, shot to fame earlier this year for his song "Noggin" where he 'spits beats' about his local community including the iconic line: "You would never see a lambo, come to my gaff if you want a saussy sambo."

And The Brown Lad, 13, released a new song on Thursday with help from Dun Laoghaire Garda Station promoting a message of safety during the current coronavirus pandemic.

'Lets Do It For Eachother' promotes the two metre rule and mask wearing amongst teenagers while meeting each other.

The music video which has been viewed by almost 100,000 people online starts with Ste waiting for food outside the local Sallynoggin takeaway San Siro.

His friends message their online group chat to see if anyone is available to hang out at "Joey's" but, after meeting up with his mates at a local park, Gardai arrive.

Thankfully, the garda officers only wanted to have a chat and spread the message of staying safe while with their friends.

Some of the lyrics spit in the rap song include genius lines like: "Lets not act the fool, keep the two metre rule/ why don't we do it outside, worked in school" and "We all know it's not that big of an ask, just to keep a little distance and wear a mask."

One listener commented that the song is "catchier than Covid".

The Noggin's answer to Tupac put the video together with the help from third year students in his school Holy Child Community School and the production team in the background.

The video collaboration was part of An Garda Siochana's Communtiy Policing initiative and included Inspector John Dowling, Garda Marion Power, and Chief Superintendant Mathew Nyland from Dun Laoghaoire Garda Station.
