Dublin punter bags almost €10k from incredible Liverpool bet made 8 months ago

One Irish punter is waking up €9,100 richer this morning after Liverpool's 2-0 win over Tottenham in the Champions League final.

Goals from Mo Salah and Divock Origi sealed a sixth European crown for Jurgen Klopp's men, but the win also sealed a bet made by one Dubliner some eight months ago.

The punter made the wager for Chelsea to win the Europa League at 6/1 and Liverpool to win the Champions League at 12/1 in mid September - placing over €100 on the bet.

The bet was made before Liverpool's sensational 3-2 win over PSG in their opening group game - with the punter sweating over Liverpool's performance after Chelsea's emphatic 4-1 win earlier this week.

Spokesperson for BoyleSports Lawrence Lyons said: “They say good things come to those who wait and hats off to the Dublin customer who showed great foresight back in September and was happy to wait to land the jackpot.

"They grabbed the early prices and we hope they enjoy splashing out with their €9,100 reward.”
