Dublin pubs: Iconic Submarine Bar to be turned into gym

A popular Dublin boozer is set to become a gym after it closed almost a decade ago.

The Submarine Bar in Crumlin, which adjoins Ashleaf Shopping Centre, shut it's door in 2013 and hasn't reopened since. It was popular with punters looking to watch big sporting occasions.

Now, gym franchise Flyfit plan to turn the big boozer into a "supergym". The new facility, which will be Flyfit's 18th in Dublin, is set to open this year.

A Flyfit press release read: "FLYEfit Crumlin is a Supergym with multiple areas and zones for all types of fitness. This gym will be an Official Hammer Strength Training Centre and equipped with everything from Olympic Lifting Platforms to a Yoga/Pilates/Dance studio.

"FLYEfit Crumlin will also be equipped with a Heated Chamber as well as a MyRide studio which is a virtual spinning experience! This gym is packed with premium equipment with tonnes of free parking!"
