Dublin pubs: Galway Bay opens new Dublin city bar The Beer Temple

Galway Bay Brewery has expanded its footprint in Dublin with the opening of its eighth pub based in the capital.

The Beer Temple will open its doors today and is located at the corner of Dame and Parliament Street.

The new pub replaces The Oak which was owned by the Thomas Reid Group and was sold earlier this year for over €6 million.

It's been a busy few weeks for Galway Bay Brewery with confirmation that the craft beer business will merge with the Brú brewery group which will see its pub portfolio increase to 25 over the next three years.

Galway bay currently operates the following pubs in Dublin: Paddle and Peel, The Brew Dock, The Black Sheep, The Beer Market, Against The Grain, Gasworks and The 108.

Galway Bay currently has a core range of seven of its own beers on tap along with a bunch of monthly releases.

It has been anything but plain sailing for the Dublin pub scene in recent times.

Since the Covid-19 Pandemic hit, Dublin has lost 33 pubs and a total of 5% of pubs will not reopen and have shut permanently.

These include iconic Dublin spots like The Hill, The Sackville Lounge, Lannigan's and Dice Bar, to name but a few.

The Beer Temple will open its doors at 3 pm today.
