Dublin pubs: Customers emotional as Grogans says emotional goodbye to iconic ATM

Popular Dublin pub Grogans have said goodbye to a piece of furniture that has served their customers better than any other over the decades.

The iconic ATM that has saved many a customer from having to leave the pub in search of a cash machine is no more.

The pub confirmed the news on their Twitter account with a picture of the ATM being rolled out one last time.

The tweet reads: "So long Grogans ATM. We barely knew ye"

And emotional regulars paid their tributes to the unique piece of Dublin's pub furniture making its final journey.

One said: "What a sad sight this is."

A second commented: "Ah no! How are we going to pay for pints and toasties now?"

While a third joked: "Can you convert it to distribute toasties?"

Of course, Grogans was one of the few pubs in Dublin that used to operate on a cash-only basis.

But since the pandemic struck, the pub has introduced card readers for thirsty customers.
