A Dublin postcode is the most expensive area to live in in Ireland as the capital dominates the latest house price index.
In the year 2021 to July, the most expensive Eircode area to buy a house was Dublin 4, with an eye-wateringly high average price of €809,509.
The Central Statistics Office released the Residential Property Price Index July 2021 on Wednesday and revealed that the top five most expensive areas to buy a house in Ireland are all Dublin Eircodes.
The second most expensive Eircode area was Dublin 6, where the mean price was €774,619.
In third place was A96 Glenageary, where the average price was €753,574.
Dublin 10 has a mean house price of €239,428, making it the least expensive area to buy property in Dublin.
Average prices in Greystones are €518,927, making it the most expensive area to buy a house outside the capital.
Bray holds the second place spot outside of Dublin. Average house prices there are now €462,448.
Overall, the volume of property sales around the country in July 2021 were up 49.2% compared to July 2020.
