Irish Paralympic swimmer Ellen Keane made a young girl's day after a kind deed.
Dubliner Ellen, 23, was the youngest Irish person ever to take part at the Paralympics when she competed in Beijing at just 13.
The talented star's career has gone from strength to strength since, winning a bronze medal at the 2016 Paralympic games and a further three bronze World Championship medals.
Ellen was born with an underdeveloped lower left arm and would hide her arm in long sleeves until she was in her mid-teens.
While on a trip to Sydney, Australia, she was contacted by the father of a little girl named Gemma, who also has an underdeveloped lower left arm.
Gemma, who is hoping to take part in the Paralympics in the future, is currently working on a school project about Ellen.
With the help of Gemma's dad, Ellen surprised Gemma who was delighted to meet the swimming star.
Ellen wrote on Twitter: "This is Gemma, she’s nine years old. She’s from Sydney and she was also born just like me.
"Her Dad noticed I was in Sydney from Insta and together we planned to surprise Gemma.
"Her reaction when she saw me was overwhelming. Thank you Internet for making things like this possible."
