Dublin has been named as one of the best small regions of the future and among the top European cities in the world for foreign direct investment.
The list by FDI magazine - which was published by the Financial Times - shows that overall Dublin broke into the FDI top ten beating hundreds of locations.
Dublin claimed an eighth place ranking for human capital and lifestyle in the list that covers 505 location, 319 cities and 148 regions.
The city was named second in the best overall region rankings and came third in the list of cities.
Dublin City Council's chief executive Owen Keegan said: "The continued strong performance of Dublin in these FDI rankings reflects the city’s success at attracting investment despite significant challenges.
He added: "The success is driven by the City’s well established global reputation as a great place to do business. Public policy has and will continue to play a key supporting role."
