Dublin Marathon 2022 announce limited places available through lottery system

Dublin Marathon organisers have announced a limited number of places will be made available through a lottery system for next years race.

Applications to take part in the marathon can be made from January 6 until midnight on January 12.

Only one entry per applicant will be accepted.

Each application will cost €15 to submit but if you're not successful, you will receive a €12 refund with €3 going towards an administration fee.

If your application is successful, the lottery fee will be redeemable against the standard entry fee of €110.

The entry fee covers the continued rise in event management costs due to hikes in insurance prices, as well as the "soaring prices of products and materials, and anticipated additional safety measures needed due to Covid-19."

How and when will winners be informed that they've been successful with the application?

Applicants will learn of their entry status by text message or email on Friday, January 17. From then, they will have until midnight on January 21 to redeem the offer.

For any offers that are not redeemed, they will be offered in the second round lottery which takes place on Tuesday, January 1.

Second round offers need to be redeemed by Monday, February 7.
