Dublin Marathon 2019: Organisers hit with blow as stewards' gear stolen from van in North Dublin

Dublin Marathon Organisers have been hit a blow after a large quanity of branded clothing intended for stewards was stolen.

Gardai are investigating after jackets and hats were taken from a van sometime between Saturday and Monday.

The clothes are not available on general sale and gardai asked people to be report to them if they see it anywhere.

They said: "Gardaí in Raheny are appealing for information and witnesses following a theft of ‘Dublin Marathon’ merchandise.

"It’s understood the merchandise was stolen between the hours of 4.30pm on Saturday 19th October 2019 and 6.30pm on Monday 21st from a van parked outside a house at Sutton Park, Sutton, Dublin 13.

"A large quantity of hats and jackets intended for Dublin Marathon Stewards / Volunteers was taken during the incident.

"An Garda Síochána would like to advise the public that this official Dublin Marathon merchandise, is not on general sale to the public and was intended only for stewards/volunteers.

"Anyone offered the merchandise for sale or can assist Gardaí in locating the property is asked to contact their local Garda station.

"Separately, anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious between the hours of 4.30pm on Saturday 19th October 2019 and 6.30pm on Monday 21st October are asked to come forward."
