A Dublin GAA club will have a 1930s gentleman on their bench for a league match this Sunday.
Club legend Mick Kissane at the ripe age of 80 is planning on making a cameo appearance for Naomh Mearnog as they take on Whitehall Colmcille.
Kissane is one of the Portmarnock's club most famous sons having captained Dublin’s 1958 minor football team to an All-Ireland win over Mayo.
And 61 years after that famous victory the club stalwart wants to line out one more time.
A teammate of Mick for Sunday told Dublin Live: "He is going to play one last game of football so his grandchildren can see him in action.
"He runs a social football club in Portmarnock and is still in great shape for his age.
"He still plays, kicks the ball about and involved in coaching.
"I think the plan is to bring him on for five minutes and give him a bit of run out.
"It will go down in history as it's a 80-year-old playing in a league match.
"He even has grandchildren now playing with the club, so it is great to have these generations of families involved - it's what it's all about."
