Dublin man arrested and charged following massive brawl outside popular pub in Lincoln, England

A Dublin man has been charged with an affray following a fight outside a popular pub in Lincoln, England.

John Stokes, 22, with an address of St Mochta's Chase, Clonsilla was arrested along with another man after a fight broke out at the premises on Sunday.

Lincolnshire police were called to the pub twice in an hour before six police cars were forced to deal with the brawl which took place on the street.

One eyewitness told Lincolnshire Live: "We were sat opposite Mailbox and they came out and started fighting in the street.

"Prior to that two police cars came, spoke to them outside and then drove off. They just drove off and then the fight started.

"They sent one woman police officer back in the police van on her own."

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: "A group of men were being abusive towards staff at 5.10pm. Two men were arrested on suspicion of affray.

"John Stokes, 22, of St Mochtas Chase, Dublin and Martin Ward, 39, of Cornbrook Street, Old Trafford, Manchester have been charged with using threatening, abusive insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence.

"Both are appearing before Lincoln magistrates on Monday."
