Ross Hutch appears in court over alleged slash attack on ex-girlfriend’s partner

A Dublin man has appeared in court over an alleged slash attack on his ex-girlfriend’s partner.

Ross Hutch (29) is alleged to have attacked the man outside a pub in Dublin city centre.

He appeared at Dublin District Court yesterday, charged with one count of threatening to kill and two of assault causing harm.

Hutch, of Portland Place in Dublin 1, was remanded in custody by Judge John King, who denied him bail.

He is due in court again on September 8.

The court heard allegations that Mr Hutch saw his ex-girlfriend’s partner outside Noctor’s Pub in central Dublin on Sunday evening and slashed him in the face with a blade.

The victim, the court was told, suffered a long cut to the left of his face and is now awaiting treatment from an eye specialist and also needed plastic surgery.

The court heard Hutch rang his ex-partner the next day — and allegedly threatened her.

The court also heard Hutch is alleged to have assaulted another ex-partner in a hostel on the same day.

It was alleged he threw her down a flight of stairs, dragged her by the hair and stamped on her head, before spitting on her.
