Residents of a west Dublin area have been warned to remain alert following an attempted late-night robbery.
A youth was spotted trying to steal a bike from the front garden of a home on Old Lucan Road in Palmerstown.
The bike was locked to a green bin and both were pulled onto the road along with the during the course of the attempted robbery.
Locals have been urged to keep an eye out on their bikes following the incident.
A warning on Palmerstown Neighbourhood Watch reads: "Attempted bike robbery from the front garden of the house on old Lucan Road youth on a bike with a wine coloured hoodie.
"Bike was locked to green bin. Pulled them both on to the Road approximately 11pm."
