Dublin jobs: Huge boost for Lucan as tech firm Nostra announce 120 new roles

Dublin based tech firm Nostra has announced it will create 120 new jobs over the next two years.

The highly skilled positions will be in engineering, IT support, cybersecurity and sales and marketing, bringing the company's total workforce to 270.

Nostra's headquarters are in Lucan and it also has offices in Smithfield, Dublin, Athenry Co. Galway and Mountmellick, Co. Laois.

CEO Kevin O’Loughlin said the new roles are being created after the company experienced "exponential" recent growth.

He said: "This is due to our attention to detail, technical expertise, and innovative approach to Managed IT Services.

"Technology changes rapidly and a company must have the ability to pivot, especially now in uncertain times.

"Our customers are predominantly business owners who are focused on ensuring their day-to-day operations perform as they should.

"IT networks, systems and cybersecurity are generally not something they have time to consider and that is where we step in.

"We manage all of the IT requirements so that people don’t have to worry about whether their systems are protected and operating as they should.”

The jobs boost was welcomed by Fianna Fail's Dublin spokesperson Cormac Devlin.

He said: "Today’s announcement is a great vote of confidence in Dublin, and in Ireland, as a place to do business, to grow and to succeed.

“It is a strong endorsement of the skills and talent of our workforce and provides a welcome boost to our economy and for Dublin after what has been an incredibly difficult year. ”

Speaking at the announcement this morning, Taoiseach Micheal Martin expressed his delight at the growth of an Irish owned company.

He said: "Nostra’s continued success speaks to the innovation and dynamism of Irish companies.

"Today’s announcement is a strong vote of confidence in our talented and skilled workforce and is a welcome boost as we look to get people back to work in sustainable and high-quality jobs and rebuild our economy.”
