Dublin jobs: HSE recruiting for student paramedics and you could help save lives every day

A life spent working as a paramedic can be one of the most rewarding jobs in the world.

It takes a special type of person to be able to save lives every day, and now the HSE are looking to add to their frontline ambulance staff.

A role as a student paramedic with the National Ambulance Service has opened up, and the application deadline is fast approaching on February 18.

There is a salary scale for the role, beginning at €27,992 all the way up to €39,069 for relevant service.

Here's the basic qualifications you need to apply:

  • Have relevant qualifications (Leaving Cert, QQI Level 5, EMT certificate depending on levels)
  • Be a holder of a full unendorsed Class C1 Driving Licence
  • A reasonable level of fitness

For those who make it to the interview stage will be interviewed from 6 April, with start dates given at job offer stage.

According to the job specification: "The hours of attendance i.e. average of 39 hours per week calculated over a predetermined period of time, involves shift work.

"You will be expected to be available for duty outside of the rostered hours as and when the need may arise. Shift patterns are normally of 8, 10 or 12 hours duration. A shift pattern may have a period of On Call incorporated. 

"Rosters and periods of duty will involve working at weekends, nights and during public holidays."
