Dublin jobs: How to work at some of the summer's hottest gigs and festivals

Flexible concert work has become available as 1 Plus Security teams up with Gigable.

The licensed private security provider announced this week that it has teamed up with Gigable, a gig economy platform that aims to deliver a team of flexible workers for upcoming concerts in Dublin and around Ireland.

The partnership aims to support event planners to tackle the increased demand for security staff at concerts and similar events. It also means that Dubs can now get some handy summer work.

2022 sees a backlog of concerts and events that were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as newly announced shows. Gigable's partnership with 1 Plus Security will provide staff with full shifts at venues such as Malahide Castle, Marlay Park and more around Ireland during concerts and festivals.

CEO of Gigable John Ryan said: "This partnership with 1 Plus Security and Gigable hopes to restore and reshape the event industry by creating a seamless experience for organisers, contractors and workers.

"With this partnership, 1 Plus Security can continuously promote available security shifts on the Gigable platform, as they continue to innovate to provide work for security and stewards at summer events."

Meanwhile CEO of 1 Plus Security Alan Crowley commented: "There has been difficulty sourcing temporary security this year with staff shortages across all sectors resulting in a challenge which Gigable along with our experienced Human Relations team has now successfully contributed to solving.

"As we adapt to the flexible working model that has arisen post-pandemic, not only do Gigable provide pre-vetted security staff but it ensures that all staff are paid in excess of the minimum wage and are protected with added benefits."

Workers who wish to sign up to be available for security shifts at concerts and festivals in Dublin and Ireland can do so by visiting Gigable.com.
