Dublin issued with STATUS ORANGE weather warning as Met Eireann forecast massive fog blanket over Ireland

Met Eireann have issued a status orange weather warning for Dublin as a mega fog is set to hit the capital.

The majority of Ireland has been warned to take care as "mist will thicken into fog overnight" and will become "dense" at times.

Frightening video shows the moment that a lorry collided with a bridge on Amiens Street near Connolly Station in Dublin

Dublin is set to be one of the worst affected as the fog moves in from the Irish sea.

The warning kicks in from midnight tonight and is set to remain in place until 8am on Tuesday morning.

As it stands, the mist will remain tomorrow before it will "gradually clear" by midday.

They said: "Mist, fog and scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle, will gradually clear through the morning to leave a mainly dry day with bright or sunny spells. Highs of 11 to 13 degrees in light to moderate easterly breezes."
