London tops the transport list with a staggering monthly travel pass cost of €160.

The research also states that Dublin is now the 8th most expensive city to rent out a 'mid-range' two bedroom apartment.

This decrease sees Dublin fall eight places to 23rd on the list for average net disposable income with average disposal incomes in the capital dropping from€1,806 to €1,623 a month too.

Shockingly, Dublin does extremely bad in the research when it comes to quality of life, dropping 21 places to 43rd.

Alongside transport, it is also the second most expensive city in the world for broadband.

The average cost a month for Internet access in Dublin is €46.60 which is only beaten by Dubai at €73.50

Out of the 55 cities surveyed, Dublin was 30th for the cost of a cappuccino, 21st for a full-course dinner for two in an Indian restaurant and 17th for a meal in a neighbourhood pub for two.
