Dublin hurling boss Mattie Kenny blasts 'unacceptable' Laois defeat

Dublin hurling boss Mattie Kenny delivered a cutting assessment of his side's performance after they were shockingly dumped out of the Championship by Laois - just three weeks on from their iconic win over Galway at Parnell Park.

The Joe McDonagh Cup champions sparked wild scenes at full time in O'Moore Park on Sunday and were full value for their 1-22 0-23 victory.

And the straight talking Galway native pulled no punches when he spoke after the game.

"There is an element of responsibility between the players and the management," Kenny told Off The Ball.

"That was an unacceptable performance from our group and the problem is it's too f*****g late now.

"It's a disappointing way to finish the season. Laois put up a great fight and showed great hunger. Dublin weren't at the required level today and there is nobody to blame for that but ourselves.

"Of course it's hard to take. You can't take away from Laois either. They fought for everything and they showed far more hunger and desire then we did today."
