Dublin hotel prices soar as tickets sell out in minutes to see country music legend Garth Brooks

Dublin hotel prices have skyrocketed after tickets to see country superstar Garth Brooks sold out within minutes on Thursday morning.

The singer will take to the stage on September 9, 10 and has now added three more dates of September 11, 16 and 17 due to popular demand.

However, ticket holders may be dishing out more money than they expected as accommodation in Dublin is set to capitalise on the surge in demand for overnight stays.

Many hotels already have limited availability, following the huge numbers of people who have already secured tickets for the sought after event and booked their stays.

According to booking.com, a one night stay on September 9 for two adults ranges in price from €90 in Abrahams Hostel, with the cheapest hotel being the Hilton Dublin Kilmainham for €309.

Some hotels have increased their prices by almost €200 for the weekend.

The Radisson Blu Hotel is currently charging €530 for the cheapest room on Saturday, September 10, 2022, while the prior weekend is set at €315.

Ticket holders must act fast as hotels in the capital are still available for the newly added dates. However, the prices still remain high.

For Friday, September 16, concert goers can avail of accommodation in KGT House for just €67 for two people. While the cheapest hotel is the Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane offering a one night stay for two at €170.

The surprise, although somewhat expected, the addition of the new dates may have some Brooks fans who were quick to grab their tickets, disappointed as they will have to fork out almost double the money for an overnight stay in the capital for the previous weekend.

Some ticketholders may be concerned over the limited availability of affordable accommodation, especially for those who will be travelling from further afield to attend the huge event.

Hopes of having a drink and dance may be dashed as some concert goers will be forced to embark on the long drive home after the show has ended.

Tickets went on sale this morning at 8am through ticketmaster.ie, with promoters and organisers quickly adding the new dates as popularity soars.
