The Lord Mayor of Dublin has said no announcement will be made on a homecoming for the five-in-a-row winners until after the Ladies All-Ireland football final on Sunday.
Jim Gavin's men ran out 1-18 to 0-15 winners against Kerry in their final replay at Croke Park on Saturday evening.
And the county can complete a double once again as their ladies team face Galway at GAA Headquarters on Sunday afternoon.
Dublin Lord Mayor Paul Mcauliffe revealed on Twitter this evening: "Out of respect for the Dublin Ladies who are playing their final tomorrow, & in agreement with @DubGAAOfficial and @dublinladiesg, no announcement will be made about any homecoming until after the final whistle tomorrow."
Speaking on the men's team's historic success, he said: “This is an historic moment in Irish Sport with Dublin achieving the previously unattainable five-in-a-row in the Senior Men’s Gaelic Football Championship.
"I am very proud of this Dublin team, Jim Gavin and his management team, the backroom staff and of course, the 16th player – the Dubs fans who have supported the Dublin teams over many years with passion.
"All eyes are now on the Dublin Ladies playing against Galway tomorrow in the All-Ireland Ladies Football Final and I wish them the very best of luck!”
