The air quality index (EPA)

It comes as weather in Dublin took a turn for the better, leading to some experiencing symptoms of hayfever.

The west of Ireland is ranked number three on the index, with some patches around the country having the most desirable quality, one.

Dublin is also the third worst country in the world for time spent in traffic, according to transport data firm INRIX, and traffic congestion is seen as a major contributor to poor air quality in major cities.
