Dublin hair salon opened for 24 hours to tackle lockdown waiting list

A Dublin hairdresser took on a massive challenge as it faces four weeks of waiting lists following lockdown.

Salon Rouge in Inchicore opened from midnight on June 29 and remained open for 24 hours straight as it returned to business.

The salon made a donation to Women's Aid from each appointment throughout the 24-hour period, Dublin Live reports.

Owner of Salon Rouge, Tish Curry, explained: "We have many loyal customers many who have cocooned for weeks now and we want to ensure that we can take care of them safely and efficiently as restrictions ease.

"This is our opportunity to show our appreciation to our extended community and to look after all their hairdressing requirements after an extremely challenging few weeks."

Hair salons across the country opened their doors yesterday as Ireland entered Phase 3 of easing lockdown restrictions.

And with important measures such as hand sanitising stations and social distancing implemented, many have had to completely change their way of working.
