Dublin gym puts a smile on customers' faces with weights and free classes from home amid coronavirus outbreak

One Dublin gym is going above and beyond for their members to 'put a smile on people's faces again' after government measures to battle coronavirus forced them to close down.

Anatomic Fitness in Castleknock shut its doors last Friday until at least March 29 to comply with new guidelines tackling the Covid-19 outbreak.

And owner Mick Daly has taken matters into his own hands to help members get through the tough time after they helped him fundraise €170,000 for Cystic Fibrosis in the last six years.

Former Drogheda United League of Ireland star Daly has delivered weights to over 50 members, while also offering digital classes for clients.

He told the Irish Mirror: "We delivered equipment to about 50 members last night (Sunday). We came in, we sterilised all the equipment - I put my mask on and put my latex gloves on.

"I got my clients to text me their address and we dropped them out to their doors."

He added: "Over the last six years, I've a brother and sister with cystic fibrosis and we were doing fundraisers for CF. We raised over €170,000 in that time through my members.

"So I suppose a time like this is definitely a time for me to give back to my members rather than be asking them for everything.

"We have a members page there that we're posting up classes in the members page.

"For the first few days just to get people going we'll be posting them live on Facebook as well."
