A young Dublin girl has told of her horror after an attempted attack on her carried out from behind by a dangerous thug who was armed with two knives.
Fabiana Freitas was stopped at traffic lights in Finglas when the animal tried to get into her car before attempting to break her window and threatening to stab her in the shocking attack
The 20-year-old Portuguese native, who is living in the northside area, has been left traumatised since the crazed knifeman approached her vehicle from behind at the traffic lights near the Dunnes Stores.
Scared for her life, the young woman fled the scene immediately and went straight to the nearest Garda station, where she reported the frightening incident.
She told Dublin Live: "I’m a health care assistant, I do home care and I was going to my last house call.
"I was stopped at the traffic lights and a man comes from behind my car pointing a knife at me."
The armed attacker pointed one of the knives at the health care assistant and tried to open her car, which was locked, before attempting to break the window.
She continued: "He tried to get into my car and almost broke my window. When he did that, I just drove off as quickly as I could.

"If I hadn’t locked my doors, I don’t know what would’ve happened.
"There was no damage to the car thankfully but I have been left absolutely terrified of going out at night now, especially if I’m driving.
Giving a description of the man, she said: "He’s about 5ft 10 I’d say, dark hair and was armed with two knives and a school bag.
"I have given the description of the individual to Gardai and they’re looking into it also."
"I gave such a good description to the guards so I’m hoping it ends well.
"I did a facial recognition process at Garda HQ in Phoenix Park and they are planning on taking DNA from my car.
"I think they managed to get the man's face on camera too because it was right at the lights, so hopefully he'll be caught."
She warned locals: "I have received texts from other people saying they've seen him too so please, please be careful everyone."
Dublin Live understands that Gardai are investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information or who may have witnessed the attack to come forward.
