Dublin girl, 11, 'nearly killed' as thugs throw beer bottles and bricks in 'random attack' in Lucan

An 11-year-old girl was 'nearly killed' in her Dublin home when thugs hurled bottles and bricks through the house's window and doors in a "random attack".

The terrifying incident took place at Moy Glas Glade, Lucan at 10:20pm on Saturday night.

A warning was issued to a local Facebook page with the homeowner pleading with fellow residents to share their CCTV footage.

They said: "We live in Moy Glas Glade. We had our front window and door smashed through at 10:20pm last night, a completely random attack.

"They nearly killed our 11-year-old daughter as beer bottles and bricks were used to smash the windows.

"The gardai are looking for anyone who may have CCTV cameras around the estate and that might have footage of a car acting suspiciously or entering the estate after 10pm.

"We would appreciate anyone's help on this as it was a terrifying ordeal that could have had some serious consequences."

A spokesman for Gardai told Dublin Live that they "are investigating an incident of criminal damage that occurred in Moy Glas Glade, Lucan on 4 January".

He added: "Several windows were damaged at the property with criminal damage being caused and investigation are ongoing."
