All-Ireland champions Dublin will enjoy a bye into the O’Byrne Cup semi-finals once again next year.
For the second year running, the competition will get underway before Christmas with two rounds of fixtures before the semi-final line-up is completed in early January.
The games will be the first to be played at inter-county level since three new playing rules were introduced at Special Congress earlier this month.
The competition will have one group of four and two groups of three, which will have a crossover element to ensure that every county plays at least three games.
The three group winners will then join Dublin in the semi-finals.
Dublin tend to field a shadow selection in the competition and have been managed by Paul Clarke for its duration in recent years.
They reached the final earlier this year but were beaten by Westmeath.
2020 O’Byrne Cup
Group 1: Kildare, Longford, Carlow, Wicklow.
Group 2: Laois, Offaly, Wexford.
Group 3: Meath, Louth, Westmeath.

Saturday, December 14: Longford v Carlow, Wicklow v Kildare, Wexford v Laois, Westmeath v Meath, Louth v Offaly.
Saturday, January 4: Carlow v Kildare, Wicklow v Longford, Offaly v Wexford, Louth v Westmeath, Meath v Laois.
