Dublin Garda checkpoints lead to multiple arrests in single night

Garda checkpoints across the city centre led to seven arrests for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

All the arrests - which included three positive test results for cocaine - were made on Saturday night.

The Gardai took to twitter to share the news of the arrests.

The social media post read: "Seven motorists arrested for DUI on Saturday night in Dublin City Centre at Mandatory Intoxicant Testing Checkpoints conducted by Roads Policing Units from the Dublin Region - including 3 positive tests for cocaine at one checkpoint alone!"
