Dublin gang arrest as two houses and lock-up searched in connection with crime 210km away

Two men part of a gang have been arrested in Dublin in connection with a crime that took place over 210km away in Mayo at the start of August.

Gardai nabbed the duo in Dublin over a burglary in a small village that is a staggering 130 miles away in the Connacht county after searches in the capital.

Investigating Tallaght officers searched two houses and a lock-up unit in the area where a number of items stolen in the burglary in Aghamore, which is over a two hour drive in distance, were found.

A dirt bike and several high-powered tools that were stolen in the burglary on August 2 were recovered.

A Garda spokesman said no further information is available at this time and investigations are ongoing.
