A group of Dublin GAA players reportedly broke Covid-19 rules to take part in a training session on Wednesday morning.
The Irish Independent reports that at least nine players took part in the dawn session at a GAA pitch in North Dublin.
It came some 12 hours after the GAA warned counties not to jeopardise plans to run both the League and Championship this summer by flouting the rules.
In a joint statement issued to all units of the Association, president Larry McCarthy and director general Tom Ryan said that the Irish Government’s decision to allow senior inter-county training to resume from April 19 and underage non-contact training from April 26 were “hugely welcome developments”.
But, in light of Cork and Down landing themselves in hot water by breaching training bans in January, they cautioned: “It should also be noted that these dates are conditional and will very much depend on what happens in terms of the overall COVID-19 picture in the coming weeks.
“For that reason, it is more important than ever that no collective training sessions are held between now and the Government indicated return dates.
“Breaches in this context will not only be dealt with under our own rules but would likely put the broader plan to return to activity in serious jeopardy.”
The Irish Mirror have contacted the GAA for comment on Dublin's breach of Covid rules.
