Dublin GAA hero Brian Fenton shows class as he leads rendition of Happy Birthday to young fan

Dublin's midfield maestro Brian Fenton proved he’s just as class an act off the pitch as on it when he gave a young Dubs fan the thrill of her life last night.

At a meet and greet at Parnell Park, young Sarah Cramp from Lucan got a wonderful surprise when Fento launched into a rendition of Happy Birthday for the teen, who was celebrating her 18th birthday.

Sarah’s mum Siobhan told Dublin Live that her daughter couldn’t have been happier when he serenaded her with the festive tune after he found out it was Sarah’s big day.

The proud mum's video shows scores of fans join in the sing-song, with Sarah, who's about to start sixth year at Confey College in Leixlip,  beaming as Fento leads the choir.

Siobhan told Dublin Live: “She adores him - he’s her screensaver. He’s an amazing true gentleman.”

She added that they had been lucky enough to see Brian play his part as Dublin dismantled Mayo at Croke Park on Saturday.

Fento was the driving force as the Boys in Blue reversed a two point halftime deficit to power into the final against Kerry.

The Raheny clubman bagged a goal and a point in the game, and was the dominant force from midfield as Dublin ran riot in the second half.

But it was Brian's generosity - and singing voice - that really won fans' hearts after last night's display.

"I’d just like to say thanks to Brian for being an amazing role model for the young and old of today," Siobhan continued.

"He’s such a gentleman. He was mobbed last night and actually thanked me for my patience for waiting to see him.

“And he made Sarah’s day - she said that him singing to her was the best birthday present ever!"

Let's hope Sarah and Siobhan make it to Croker to watch their hero in next month's final against Kerry.

"We haven't got tickets yet, but we're still hopeful," Siobhan added with a wink.
