Dublin GAA fans disagree with Dessie Farrell's 'positives' comments

A number of Dublin fans disagreed with Dessie Farrell's comments after their defeat to Mayo on Saturday night.

The Boys in Blue have lost their first three Allianz Football League games and face a battle to stay in Division 1.

But speaking after Saturday's game, Farrell claimed there were some positives to take from the games.

He said: "We're on the back of a string of poor results which on the face of it doesn't look great.

"But we're very happy with some of what's happened for us, some aspects of performances, some things we've been trying out practising.

"We're seeing ourselves make progress. We're also trying out new players, giving youth a chance."

He added: "There's some positives to take from it as well and we just keep learning as we go."

But some supporters feel that the Dubs' performances have not been good enough.

One said: "I’m sorry but it’s a results business and we’re not getting them…serious questions now need to be asked…"

Another added: "No energy, no speed, slow build up, sloppy passing, no movement, players isolated, poor decision making."

Someone else commented: "Most of the panel are part of the best team in the history of the game. 4 defeats in a row is an absolute disgrace."

One other supporter said: "I must of been at a different game because there was no positives to take from that. It was hard to watch. No fight and very sloppy."

But not everyone agreed.

One fan tweeted: "Hang on let’s give them a chance. Full tilt in February isn’t going to win an all Ireland in July."

One other said: "Great to see all these new lads coming through."
