Dublin firefighters tow people to safety in heroic water rescue

Dublin firefighters rushed down the docks last night when four people got into difficulty.

The group's boat drifted east of the Tom Clark East-Link bridge and into the Dublin Port shipping channel.

A water rescue team raced to the scene with one of Dublin Fire Brigade's rescue boats.

They towed all four people to safety.

There were no injuries reported among the group.

Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: "Water-rescue trained Firefighters, using one of rescue boats, towed four people to safety last night.

"The boat they were in drifted east of the the Tom Clark East-Link bridge and in to the Dublin Port shipping channel.

"No injuries."
