Dublin firefighter Martin 'Doomer' Keogh retires after 32 years of service

Dublin firefighter Martin 'Doomer' has retired after over three decades of service.

Dublin Fire Brigade wished the hero well on his retirement.

The hardworking firefighter had been on the B Watch in Dolphin's Barn for 32 years.

His colleagues said he was a role model for upcoming firefighters and that he was always fully committed to his difficult role.

Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: "We said goodbye to Martin "Doomer" Keogh as he left B Watch in Dolphins Barn fire station after 32 years service.

"Martin was the senior man and an outstanding role model.

"He was always fully committed and this showed through, even on his last night. Thanks Doomer."

Grateful Dubliners wished Martin well on his retirement.

One person said: "What a great career you have had. Enjoy your retirement. Stay safe."

Another commented: "Thank you for your service!"

A third person wrote: "Congratulations Doomer, Hope you have a long Happy Retirement."
