Dublin Fire Brigade tackle bus fire that caused heavy early morning delays on N7

Heavy traffic delays were reported early this morning on the N7 following a vehicle fire overnight.

It has now emerged that the vehicle involved was a Dublin Coach double decker bus.

Dublin Fire Brigade sent three engines to the scene overnight from the Tallaght and Dolphin's Barn stations.

Delays are still being reported on the route this morning, with the latest update saying there are queues passing Newland's Cross.

Earlier this morning, queues that were taking more than 30 minutes built on the route. Another bus broke down earlier this morning on the same route.

Sharing pictures from the blaze early this morning, Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Overnight firefighters extinguished a coach fire on the N7 Naas Road inbound at Newlands X. 3 fire engines were sent to the scene from Tallaght & Dolphins Barn stations."
