Dublin Fire Brigade stop house blaze from spreading and causing further devastation in Baldoyle

A house fire was stopped from spreading to more homes and causing further damage in north Dublin yesterday.

The blaze broke out in a home in Baldoyle and two people were treated on scene for smoke inhalation.

But further injuries were prevented thanks to the quick thinking of the fire fighters from the Kilbarrack and North Strand stations.

And the prevention of even bigger flames was also aided by the fact that the house had a working smoke alarm.

Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Yesterday, crews from Kilbarrack and North Strand fought a domestic house fire in Baldoyle.

"The fire was prevented from spreading to the adjoining houses. Two treated on scene for smoke inhalation, but did not require hospital treatment.

"The house's smoke alarm was working."

A person who was struck by a car in Coolock was also treated by the same DFB stations yesterday.

The person was hospitalised with injuries that were thankfully non-life threatning.
