Dublin Fire Brigade stop city centre building blaze after bins set alight

Dublin Fire Brigade crew members prevented a building fire last night after a number of bins and rubbish caught fire.

The waste was stored next to the building in Moore Lane and firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze before damage was caused inside.

Two units from Phibsborough Fire Station attended the scene.

They warned the public that bins and waste should be stored away from buildings.

Posting about the incident on social media, a Dublin Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Last night, Firefighters prevented a building fire extinguishing bins and rubbish alight before it could spread.

"On inspection of the inside of the property it was heavily smoke logged, but not fire damaged.

"Ideally, bins and waste should be securely stored away from buildings."
