Dublin Fire Brigade rushes to scene as truck goes up in flames near major shopping centre in Swords

Dublin Fire Brigade have rushed to the scene of a massive fire at the Pavilions shopping centre in Swords on Monday afternoon.

A truck burst into flames in the car park of the popular centre shortly after 2pm on Monday.

Footage taken near the scene shows a fire engine racing to the centre as thick smoke billows into the air.

A Dublin Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Firefighters from Swords are attending a truck on fire in a loading area at the Pavillion’s Shopping Centre. There was thick black smoke in the area.

"The fire is now under control, and firefighting operations are being scaled back. The Shopping Centre has not been affected."
