Dublin Fire Brigade rush to scene of a car flipped on its side in rollover collision

These alarming pictures show a car flipped onto its side following a terrifying collision.

The Dublin Fire Brigade crew were alerted to the scene of the crash in Kilbarrack yesterday.

Firefighters used ladders to stabilise the vehicle after the impact caused it to roll onto its side.

A spokesperson for the emergency service said on Twitter: "Firefighters from Kilbarrack fire station were called to a rollover road traffic collision today. In a roll-over collision, rapid vehicle stabilisation is required.

"Ladders look crude, but they do the job perfectly. We carry specialised stabilisation equipment on our rescue tenders.

"There are normally wedges placed on the ‘roof’ side to prevent the car from going upside down. We have to be mindful that the roof may need to be cut and folded down."
